In 1956, Topp took the leap across the Alps—and today, 70 years later, we manufacture products in northern Italy for the European luxury fashion industry. We celebrated this milestone anniversary together: On May 1, 1956, during the post-war economic boom, our first overseas facility was established. While many ribbons and textile products for the automotive industry are now manufactured in Germany, Topp Italia has remained true to the fashion world. In Bassano Bresciano, near the fashion capital of Milan, high-quality textile ribbons and accessories for the European luxury fashion industry are produced today.
What particularly sets our colleagues in Italy apart is their exceptional design expertise and their ability to respond to our customers’ requirements with lightning speed and great creativity—a strength that we also consistently incorporate into our developments here in Germany.
In the days leading up to the celebrations, the Topp plants from Germany, Romania, and Italy gathered for the annual group strategy meeting to discuss solutions to current challenges. On the eve of the celebration, over 20 colleagues from Germany arrived. In their luggage: an apple tree and three wheels of Allgäu mountain cheese as a gift. The tree, by the way, is our response to the German oak that Topp Italia gave us last year for our 80th anniversary—a symbol of deeply rooted friendship on both sides of the alps.
The celebration itself was yet another wonderful testament to what makes Topp special: a sense of community and warmth that transcends national borders. Amid Italian hospitality, the finest Italian cuisine, and many conversations, it became clear that we are connected by far more than just shared business figures—namely, 70 years of shared history and a genuine, deep friendship! A special thank you goes to the management of Topp Italia, Davide Domenico Facci, and the entire team for the fantastic organization and the wonderful moments of the past few days!
Here’s to the next decades!
