The new Collin laboratory extrusion and flat film line was inaugurated today with a small celebration attended by all employees. This line makes it possible to carry out flexible and cost-effective tests on textile coating, textile lamination and film production - a significant improvement over the large production extruder, which only offered limited variation options for process conditions and materials due to its high pellet and fabric consumption.
In the past, trials were often carried out in external plants, but this was linked to long waiting times, high costs and a great deal of organisational effort. The new system now enables internal tests to be carried out with greater flexibility and efficiency, which significantly increases the speed of innovation and shortens development times. As the solvent-free extrusion coating of textiles is a key focus of Topp Textil's innovation strategy, the laboratory extrusion plays a special role in realising the innovation potential in an effective and targeted manner.
