Luminescent Tapes
-
Since 2004, Topp Textil has taken up the development of smart textiles and the combination of microelectronics with textiles and presented its first self-luminous reflective tape at the A+A trade fair in Düsseldorf. Depending on the application, the tapes can be coated with a phosphorescent or luminescent material or equipped with light-emitting diodes via luminescent fibres. These actively luminous tapes warn, secure and can also be used as a design element.
Self-illuminating tapes and self-illuminating piping can be used in many business sectors. In the automotive industry, stable or elastic luminous tapes, luminous piping and luminous piping can be incorporated into armrests, instrument panels, doors and seats, for example. These tapes are also excellent for interior design. Here they can be used for shop windows, for example. Luminous textiles can be found more and more often at trade fairs and also in buildings. Workwear and children's clothing as well as bags and shoes are also suitable for luminous textiles.
In the in-house woven and seamless textiles, PMA (acrylic) is inserted in various forms so that the fabric then glows. With luminescent technology, electricity is applied to make the tape glow. This technology is also incorporated into the in-house woven textiles in various forms.
For the most part, luminescent textiles are not ready for series production and must always be developed for the respective application. For this reason, it makes sense for a development contract to be defined together with the interested customers. Knowledge about the special requirements of the customers is very important in advance so that a product designed according to the requirements and wishes can be developed.
